Democracy School Press Release: Democracy School and MEPI to Set up a Typical Court

The Democracy School has signed an agreement with the US-run Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) to implement the second phase of the "Training Court" to be set up at the Supreme Judiciary Institute.

The Democracy School and MEPI will establish a typical court at the Supreme Judiciary Institute and train 300 students from the institute and the Faculty of Law in Sana'a University on mechanism of fair trials, international conventions of human rights, local laws and judicial measures should be taken in a trial. The school will also prepare a training guide and necessary documents for training.

In 2006, the Democracy School achieved a similar typical court at the Faculty of Law and trained 160 students. The court was handed over to the faculty to run it.
