MEPI offers a variety of mechanisms to ensure that it works with innovative partners who can deliver concrete results in the region. Several funding opportunities are available throughout the year to support civil society groups.

MEPI regularly announces funding opportunities based on specific themes – such as independent media, civil society, and women’s empowerment – for non-governmental organizations, professional associations, universities, and other civil society groups in the Middle East and North Africa.  The Request for Application (RFA) is an open competition for proposals to carry out national or regional projects that focus on a priority area of reform addressed by MEPI.  Grants vary in amount, from the Rapid Response category (usually $200,000 to $900,000) to larger, multi-year, often multi-million dollar Flagship Grants.
