MEPI Alumni Network Co-organizes a Workshop on Jordanian Media

The Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Alumni Network, in conjunction with the Jordanian Initiatives Organizations, organized an interactive workshop entitled “Jordanian Media: A Reflection of Reality or Detraction from the Truth," attended by regional media staff, media officials, and politicians. The workshop covered topics on freedom of expression, citizens’ issues of concern, media and the national identity, the political, economic, social, and educational role of the press, and the role of governments in affording a suitable environment for media growth.

The event was covered extensively in the local press including Petra News Agency , and Al-Rai .  A week subsequent to the conference, the local press, Addustour and Al Arab Al Yawm, released articles on the positive role of MEPI in advancing Jordan’s civil society.
